Free WordPress Plugins

A very brief explanation of what WordPress is will be announced along as a list of major plugins used to enhance ones experience with WordPress. Making WordPress go beyond being just a blogging tool.

WordPress was designed to be a blogging tool to create blogs online. Blogs are best described as online journals of ones day written in an informal way. However WordPress has evolved with its many free WordPress plugins to have the ability to create static web page and even a free shopping cart plugin which can be used to change WordPress to a full blown E-commerce site.

  • WordPress Email Notification Plugin v2.3.1 - lets readers get new posts via email instead of RSS.
  • Sidebar Widgets - added by the developer so even I can update my sidebars.
  • wp-cache - not used this yet, but if I get slashdotted, this will help stop the site from slowing down by caching pages
  • Might Adsense - This plugin allow you to add Google ads to your blog without modifying the template.
  • Meta Tag Plugins - A list of plugins used with WordPress to create a meta title, meta description and meta keywords.

The following are free WordPress plugins that are used to create static pages and to implement a full blown shopping in the WordPress structure.
